A1615f. YOU REMAKE IT! SOLD

£45.00

This listing is for all the glass but as shown in the images where most of the lead has been removed as it has been deconstructed. Accounting for the lead, its original size was: 606mm x 533mm
Mm to inches converter.

This glass was rescued from a house in Oldham, Lancashire. (You may be interested in A1615c, A1615b and A1615a which were from the same house.)

You could remake it to the original size, make it smaller by trimming something off the edges or a bit larger by adding glass to the outer border? This is an idea for making your own leaded light using interesting glass which is no longer in production. The fact that it has been deconstructed means that you can receive it at a low shipping price – if you don’t want to collect. This listing is aimed at several people. You:

  • might not want to remake it yourself but could show it to a leaded light maker to obtain a price – I could ship directly to the person you hire to remake it
  • are a leaded light maker wanting to show this option to a customer  – the pattern has already been designed so this could save time regarding the design process, let alone glass cutting!
  • are someone who is learning to make leaded lights so would like some nice glass to experiment with rather than the usual fodder of cheap modern “hobbyist” glass on the market.

Please be advised I only sell glass sets like this if I have already identified, for one of several reasons, why I would rather sell in this way. I won’t deconstruct anything already listed which has not been deconstructed. Deconstructing takes time and there is the risk of breakage in the process.

General shipping advice
To see if a listing offers a shipping price please add it to the cart. If the cart only says “local pickup” then please contact me stating your country. This website usually recognises where in the world you are viewing from but it could be I have not set a shipping price for any country as the item requires greater consideration given its size/fragility. Any shipping price shown on my website is for a parcel courier service such as DHL. Here are examples of my packaging.

Combined shipping
Please always ask me for a combined shipping price, regardless of what total the cart shows. This is because the cart:

  • is not capable of computing a discount for combined shipping
  • has a quirk where if you select a listing that offers shipping but also select another which does not, it will still process your order, not making it clear that one is not eligible for shipping!

UK delivery
The UK shipping checkout prices, if provided, are for delivery anywhere on the UK mainland, excluding the Scottish Highlands. If you are considering buying large items or a large quantity of small items then it might be possible to reduce this cost if your order can be personally delivered. Myself or an independent “man with a van” courier will take responsibility for ensuring it is delivered in the condition as advertised but rarely will packaging be provided. For a delivery price just tell me where you are and what you want.

Insurance for loss/damage in transit
It is very rare that I receive reports of loss or damage. Should this happen I will work with you to put it right. In the event of damage your full costs will not necessarily be refunded – it would depend on the extent of damage compared to the reasonable cost of repair. If when your package is being delivered you suspect any damage then as a precaution sign “DAMAGED” in capital letters as this can help the claims procedure. Any claim for damage must be submitted to me seven days from when the tracking has been recorded as “delivered” and clear photographic evidence must be provided.

Import duty/taxes
International buyers are responsible for paying any import charges. Please click here for some advice specific to countries I regularly send to.

Bulk purchase by international trade buyers
If you want to purchase on a large scale then I can send using my palletised crate service but you might want to consider arranging your own shipping method for maximum economy of scale. Please read my international trade page for further advice.

My thoughts about shipping
My definition of the word “shipping” includes the laborious task of packaging – not just the cost of carriage. I don’t take any particular pleasure in packaging but it is a necessity to sustain my love of dealing in glass. It is always my preference that customers collect if possible.
