Pete has been practising his trade for at least ten years having been apprenticed by his father who has over 46 years experience. His father has worked on Westminster Abbey, St Pauls Cathedral, and Buckingham Palace, to name drop but a few.

Pete with his retired father who just can’t help making the odd appearance!

Pete has been trained in the traditional techniques of a trade that has been in existence for hundreds of years. Over the years new techniques have been developed and some people now use these to save time. However Pete only uses the original techniques passed down by his father and the materials that have essentially remained unchanged for hundreds of years. His comfort zone ranges from completing a small door panel in a private residence to ancient church windows.

In addition to a high standard of craftsmanship I have found Pete has an enthusiasm which some in the trade lack having been ‘at it’ all their life. His approach to customer service is also refreshing.

Watch Pete in action!

DAVID

David engrossed in glass painting.

David learnt his trade which has been passed down from father to son in his family since 1912. His work involves the design, restoration and repair of leaded light door and window panels but extends to ecclesiastical, architectural and commercial artworks.

Among David’s many talents are his glass painting and manufacturing of glass sealed units. I am often asked if it is possible to have my panels double-glazed so I am fortunate to have David offering this service.

He recently told me it is his aim to be regarded as one of the world’s best glass painters. I think the door set below, which he designed by listening to a client’s thoughts, would be a good entry for such status! The finished panels were fitted into toughened glass sealed units and the recess of the door was made deeper to accommodate the extra thickness of these:

Mandy does restoration and repairs as well as altering size.

Mandy has a workshop at her home which means she can offer her services at a competitive price given that she has less overheads compared to high street leaded light shops. Mandy shares my passion for reclaiming old windows to ensure they do not go to waste. She also offers stained glass tuition: please contact me for more information.
